Snow! (NYC Child Photography)

December 22, 2009

I have one image to share today. One that will remind us what it feels like to close our eyes and feel the wet sprinklings of snow fall on our closed eyelids; One that will remind us how it feels to inhale the chill of the air, and fill our lungs with the fresh sense of wonder.

On a different note, snow can be quite a majestic backdrop for your photography session. If you want to book a winter session consider booking it before January 1st to take advantage of 2009 pricing.

There is just something about little girls. Something divinely enchanting about them twirling, playing, and being. This session was magical in so many ways. Here is a little piece of the magic.

Winter for me is a challenge. Sunlight is what I work with, breathe actually, but before I have a chance to catch my breath, the last streaks of sunset are fading away. The extra hours of darkness are not all painful though. It gives me a chance to think about the bigger picture instead of just reading into the light. It gives me a chance to take a step back and redefine myself as a photographer.

This journey of photography has been a rare and intriguing gift of self discovery. It shocks me to see how my style has evolved from fun and spontaneous to planned and imagined. It makes me wonder again and again what it is I want to capture, and what defines an image as being mine. Especially being that I love the outdoors, shooting indoors again pushes me to challenge my vision of what I want to create and share.

I am incredibly thankful for the wonderful individuals that have taken a part of my journey and I look forward to seeing where this road will take me next.
